
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th, 1976. His family was from the southern part of California, and attended Huntington Beach High School where He was a leading player on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez excelled in these games during his time at the University of California. He led the football team into the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he set a record for the school bowl with nine receptions. Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament only a few months later. Gonzalez then went to the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was a player for the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. The Chiefs dealt Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. In Gonzalez's second NFL year, he was able to catch more than 59 passes every season.
